Hi Guys.

Sugar asked me to send all of you a thank you note since she does not have opposable thumbs.
She is so very grateful to all of you special people that donated for her care.
Her foster mom is taking such good care of her.

What’s next for Sugar?
Dr. D. gave us the lab results and they were exactly what we wanted to hear!
She said the eye lid mass was a parcel gland abnoma, which is a pretty common eyelid tumor.
Once you remove it they go away.
(This is unlike the mast cell ones which can come back.)
She removed the eye lid growth first.
She thought they eye lid growth may be something OTHER than a mast cell tumor and didn’t want to risk contaminating that area with mast cells.

All others masses were Grade 2 mast cell tumors.
There are 3 grades and all along the docs have been saying they were likely grade 2 which are most common.
Most were removed completely with good margins!
The only one that wasn’t perfect was the knee which was expected, but she did say the disease seems to be ALL within the sample which is a great sign! Ideally the margin would have been bigger but that’s the best that could be done in the knee area.

Moving forward, Dr. D. recommends treating any future masses that pop up medically (and also medically trying to PREVENT them).
She recommended we see Dr. D. at the Animal Surgical and Emergency Center (ASEC).
This was music to my ears as I LOVE Dr. D. and have used her for my own dogs.
Dr. D. uses a combination of a Steroid and Anti-Neoplastic (sp?) agent to medically prevent/treat the new tumors.
We want to try that for Sugar.

So next stop – Dr. D. at ASEC.

Popsalot helps fight cancer and supports survivors

Saturday, November 14th Popsalot joined forces with Lululemon and YogaBear (http:www.YogaBear.org), Santa Monica to support survivors of cancer and to help raise money for YogaBear. Jennifer Pastiloff (www.jenniferpastiloff.com), the organizer and instructor of the fundraiser is quoted as saying “Popsalot was such a hit…. People were fighting over the bags and people were overjoyed to find individual bags of your London Kettle Corn in their goodie bags, Thanks so much!!!!” Below are some photos from the event, a word of caution from Popsalot, don’t try any of the “acroyogo” poses!

Dogs and Cats Love Popsalot too….????

Hi,

I am a foster mom and volunteer with Molly’s Mutts and Meows rescue (www.mollysmuttsandmeows.org) ….and I just wanted to thank you for donating your fantastic popcorn to help out with our adoption event at the West Hollywood Whole Foods on October 24th. It was such a great day! Lots of people….And the dogs, cats and the Pops A Lot were all a hit!

We are all so glad that Pops A Lot was part of the event and part of our fundraising boxed lunch as many of us (volunteers and other peeps who came) just discovered Pops A Lot! We are all new fans of your popcorn. All I can say is “Love it!”

I have to mention….I really dig the name …. “Clandestine Carmel” Reminds me of a “clandestine love affair” Romantic and sinfully delicious! But not so sinful…..since your popcorn has whole and wholesome ingredients in it. But you still feel like you are indulging in something that taste so good that it almost can’t be good for you. (I am one of those people who reads the back of labels for product ingredients.)

I just wish that they sold Pops A Lot at movie theaters (movie theater popcorn is so bad for you) so that I wouldn’t have to sneak it in from now on.

(Since Halloween is coming up….I am going to have some handy for my Halloween Party and try to make popcorn balls out of it, too….Will also hand out some to Trick-or -Treaters.)

Knowing that Pops A Lot supports animal rescue….you now have a particularly devoted following from all us and we will tell others as well.

Anyway, Thank you again for contributing to our rescue/our adoption event. It is much appreciated by everyone!

Popsalot’s first KO!

Popsalot has partnered with KnockoutsForGirls.org for their Inaugural Celebrity Golf Tournament. The Tournament will take place June 11, 2009 at the Industry Hills Golf Course in the City of Industry. All proceeds from this event will go to the educational programs for kids within the Knockouts For Girls organization. www.KO4G.org Popsalot has donated bags of its’ acclaimed Clandestine Caramel Corn as well as gift tins that will be strategically placed around the awards dinner and festival for all to enjoy.

Knockouts For Girls is a non-profit organization that uses the discipline of boxing to build self esteem, inspire determination, and promote physical fitness to help people facing challenges worldwide. Through female boxing events and fundraisers, KO4G raises money to support its many programs that help underprivileged girls, women and those in need. Popsalot rocked the World Famous Apollo Theater

On June 4, 2009 Popsalot Gourmet Popcorn made its’ Apollo Theater debut! Popsalot partnered with Do Something.org to “honor people who stood up and did something to change the world.” Do Something.org’s event featured Usher, Damien Fahey, Akon & Friends, just to name a few. Among those receiving awards, Do Something.org gave out four life time achievement awards to: Matthew Diamond (co-founder/CEO of Alloy Media and Marketing), Sylvia Rhone (President, Universal Motown Records), Kim Kadlec (WW VP Global Marketing Group for Johnson and Johnson) and Darryl Wash (Founder and CEO of Ascend Ventures).

Popsalot donated products to be included in the gift bags as well as bulk product for everyone in attendance to snack on while enjoying the festivities. Cari Smulyan, the events coordinator for Do Something.org is quoted as saying “The popcorn was a huge hit!!!”

Southwest Regional Approval from Whole Foods

A little bit about Popsalot….

For years we have been making waves with our popcorn on behalf of the Hollywood elite. We began as a small business that served exclusive private movie screenings for movie producers, directors, actors, and studio executives, in addition to birthdays and special celebrity charitable events. As demand for the best popcorn in Los Angeles grew, so did we! By popular demand, we are currently expanding our operations and are pleased to now offer our world class popcorn worldwide.

We set our standards above the rest! Why? We have to. Look who we have to satisfy! In Hollywood, if you’re not recognized as the best at what you do, you blend in with the masses. After learning this quickly, we have carefully crafted a unique recipe that yields an untouchable product with brilliant taste and consistency!

In Hollywood, one of the least understood principles is that of economy of scale. Thus you have to pay a premium to produce or get the best available. Since we no longer reside in Indiana, we decided to throw caution to the wind and follow suit. As a result, our recipes are intentionally economically inefficient as we purchase only the finest ingredients—organic and natural ingredients are used wherever possible — in order to deliver a superior product. Our popcorn is made by people who are passionate about their work, not by automated machines that turn out gallons of flavorless product. Our toppings are carefully mixed by hand, while ingredients are added one at a time to our 100% air popped popcorn. And the results speak for themselves.
